It dwells mainly in freshwater rivers, and natural slower moving shallow creeks.
It thrives in water that has a pH of anywhere from 5.5 to 6.8.
The Betta Patoti can survive comfortably in temperatures from 23 to 28°C.
The Betta Patoti was first discovered in the Balikpapan region of Indonesia.
The Betta Patoti is sometimes known as the Black Betta.
